Description

When trying to upgrade the Siebel Dedicated Web Client or Siebel Mobile Web Client from versions 7.7.2.x to 7.7.2.x you may receive the following errors:
 
(TEST_Siebel Client Executables_1 7.7.2.4 SIA) for component (TEST_Siebel Client Executables).  Curr Version (7.7.2.0 [18325] LANG_INDEPENDENT) below Min Old Version (7.7.2.0 SIA) or above Max Old Version (7.7.2.0 SIA)
 
Skipping kit (TEST_Siebel Client Executables__ENU 7.7.2.4 SIA) for component (TEST_Siebel Client Executables).  Curr Version (7.7.2.0 [18325] LANG_INDEPENDENT) below Min Old Version (7.7.2.4 SIA) or above Max Old Version ()
 
SBL-CDM-00223: Unable to find upgrade kit path to upgrade the following component(s):

TEST_Siebel Client Executables__ENU
 
Please contact your Siebel Administrator or try again.
 
This behavior occurs because the current version of the client includes the build number but the upgrade kit does not.
 
Bug 10505352 has been logged to address this product defect.
 
NOTE: You should review the following Alerts for other related behaviors with Siebel Anywhere and Siebel version 7.7.2.x:
 
  • Document 473956.1 which has information about how Siebel Anywhere cannot upgrade Siebel clients from versions 7.7.2.x to 7.7.2.4 using Delta Client Executables kit.

Likelihood of Occurrence

This issue is highly likely when trying to upgrade the Siebel Dedicated Web Clients and Siebel Mobile Web Clients from versions 7.7.2.x to 7.7.2.x.

Possible Symptoms

When Siebel Anywhere tries to apply the upgrade kit, it will fail and will report the errors listed above in the upgwiz.log file. Below is a screen shot of the error received:
 

Workaround or Resolution

To workaround this behavior, do the following:
 
  1. Modify the ”Min Old Version” and “Max Old Version” in the Upgrade Kit Components screen to include the build number for both BASE and XXX Kits. For example:
 
 
Please note the ENU kit would read:
 
Min Old Version: 7.7.2.0 SIA [18325] ENU
Max Old Version: 7.7.2.0 SIA [18325] ENU
 
  1. Modify the version information to include the build number in the Upgrade Components List Applet. For example:
 
 
  1. Distribute the configuration.
