SBL-DAT-00244: An error has occurred getting the business component %1 from business object %2. Please have your systems administrator check your appl

Symptoms


When customer selects any Find category from the Look In drop down,
the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
An error has occurred getting the business component Find Entry from business object Search Execution. Please have your systems administrator check you application configuration. (SBL-DAT-00244)

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Click on the Binocular Icon.
2. Select any Find category from the "Look In" drop down
3. The error message will be thrown.

Cause


After upgrading to Siebel 8.1.1.1 patch, the issue started occurring for the customer.

Solution

The following steps will resolve the issue:

1) Login to Siebel Tools connecting to your local database

2) In the Object Explorer, select View Object and look for view "Find View"

3) Rename the existing view "Find View" to "Original Find View".

4) Make a copy of "Original Find View" and rename it to "Find View"

5) Compile the new "Find View" to the customer's srf

Symptoms


After applying 8.0.0.6 the following error is seen when navigating to the "Administration - Business Rules> Rule Module List"

"An error has occurred getting the business component Rule Module from business object Business Rule. Please have your systems administrator check your application configuration.(SBL-DAT-00244)"

Cause


The cause of the error is that installations of the Siebel 8.0 or Siebel 8.1.1 product line using media acquired on or after December 29th 2008 will require an additional installation of Haley Expert Rules 5.2, which is a technical update.

Please review: New Installations of Siebel 8.0 and Siebel 8.1.1 will not contain Haley Rules for a short period. (Doc ID 758818.1)

Solution

Ensure the Responsibility of the user does not include the 'Rule Module List View' if you are not using Haley Rules.

Change Request 12-1U0AX5H has been raised to report the error when navigating to the 'Rule Module List View'

Symptoms


After installing Siebel Fix Pack version 8.0.0.7 on Siebel Server, Client and Tools and performing the instructions in
(1) <Siebel Tools>\REPPATCH\acr327b_Bulk_Request.zip > 'Release Note for Applying ABO Bulk Request_ACR327B_IN_8.doc' to implement ACR 327, and
(2) Siebel Maintenance Release Guide Version 8.0.0.x (Note 729563.1) > 'Instructions for FR 12-1RDW5K5' to change the file name for DLL "SSCABRBC" from "sscaabobrbc.dll" to "sscabrbc.dll",
the following error is observed in the Siebel Client while opening the Bulk Request screen:
"We detected an Error which may have occurred for one or more of the following reasons:
An error has occurred getting the business component ABO Bulk Request Header from business object ABO Bulk Request. Please have your systems administrator check your application configuration.(SBL-DAT-00244)"

This can be reproduced in a standard Siebel environment connected to Sample DB.

Cause


The error message is caused by the fact that we have 2 DLLs with the same name in the Siebel installation:
The physical DLL filename for the BulkRequest business component classes is "sscabrbc.dll". This can be seen from the tools configuration for the DLL object where the Name of the DLL is "SSCABRBC" and the filename is "sscabrbc.dll".
The physical DLL filename for the BizRules business component classes is the same, "sscabrbc.dll". This can be seen from the tools configuration for the DLL object where the Name of the DLL is "BizRuleBC" and the filename is "sscabrbc.dll"
When the binaries were generated for the Siebel v8.0.0.7 installation the BizRules DLL overwrote the BulkRequest DLL.

This is a product defect, and the following Change Request has been logged to request a fix:
Bug 12-1VM8LO9 - Error SBL-DAT-00244 when opening bulk request screen.

Solution

CR# 12-1VM8LO9 is targetted to be implemented in Siebel v8.0.0.10.
