Symptoms
On the vanilla version 8.1.1 when you run the UpdateConfiguration web service and set an attribute value in a Quote line item then the SOAPUI response has a success status. However the attribute value is not changed in the database or application.
Cause
In the EAI log file the following error exists:

SBL-EAI-04290: The record with search specification '[Integration Id] = "XXX"' in business component 'PDS Simplified Quote Item' (integration component 'Line Item') has been modified by another user since it was retrieved (as indicated by field 'Mod Id'). Please requery and redo the update.

The issue is caused by the product defect described in Change Request BUG 10560711


Solution
The problem was solved by adding the field "Cfg State Code" in Tools to the Integration Object "PDS Quote" within Integration Component "PDS Simplified Quote Item XA"
