SBL-ADM-02065: Parameter value not specified

Symptoms


Customer cannot reset the search specification parameter on their customer WorkProcMgr component.  When they attempt to use Delete Parameter Override, they get Siebel error SBL-ADM-02065

Cause


Parameters cannot be blank.  The enterprise level search specification parameter is blank by default when created.  Clicking delete parameter override was causing the component to attempt to inherit a blank parameter.

Solution

Bug 12-1OA5AQZ was logged to address this issue.  However, a workaround is available:


1. go to sitemap > Administration - Server Configuration > Enterprises > Component Definitions and search for the component with the error.
2. Search for the Component Parameter you are attempting to clear
3. Set the Enterprise Value to "" (that is 2 double quotes with no spaces - it appears that Siebel does not allow this value to remain blank, causing the error you are receiving)
4. Click the Synchronize button to synchronize the enterprise.
5. Then go to Administration - Server Configuration > Servers, search the Components applet for your custom component
6. Once it is highlighted, select the Parameters tab in the bottom applet and query for the parameter you wish to clear

7. Right click on it, and choose Delete Parameter Override. This should then cause it to inherit the default enterprise value of ""
8. At this point, I would synchronize and also restart the Siebel server service on the server where this component resides.

This should clear the parameter for your component.

Symptoms

We have problem with open to attachments in the activities, the error that show is: “The file 'xxx' could not be found on any specified file system. ( SBL-UIF-00230 )”

Reviewed screenshot. When changing FIle System parameter for Siebel server , customer is getting

Changes

The only change they did was DSFileSystem it to set the path shared with File System (Siebel Server machine \\xxxxx\fs\), the value that had previously *FSM * as indicated in DOC ID 509811.1

Cause

It seems above changes that customer did, did not take an effect.

Solution


Following action plan was provided to the customer which seems to resolved this attachment review:

1. To synchronize server components through the GUI:

a) Navigate to the Enterprise Configuration screen.
b) Click the Batch Component Admin view tab.
c) In the Batch Components list, click Synchronize.
This operation may take up to a minute to execute. After the operation is
finished, a list of the batch components will be displayed.
d) Stop and restart the Siebel Server System and gateway Service for the changes to take effect

2. Please make sure these users has proper access to this Shared filesystem since it complains about user preference file not found.

3.  Please take a backup of siebns.dat file before doing this. Please remove value "\ \sever14\ FS" from your server server14 from UI and restart this gateway and Siebel services.

When accessing and navigating the application as per the following steps, a pop-up window with errors occurs:

Logged in to sales_enu application via URL: http://localhost/sales_enu

Navigated to:
Screen=Administration - Server Configuration
View=Servers
Siebel Server= SiebSrvr
Component = Synchronization Manager
Component Parameter = Field delimiter when log entry format is

Pop-up window shows:

Cause


This has been reproduced in-house. This is caused by a product defect, which is that the default value for the parameter="Field delimiter when log entry format is" is empty using the out of the box Siebel enterprise setup.

The reason this is a product defect is, this behavior should not occur in a standard out of the box setup.
Entering a value to the value field of the "Field delimiter when log entry format is" parameter avoids this pop-up error.

Solution


Please enter a value into the value field for this parameters record.
CR 12-1PAX3P9 has been logged to handle this issue.

Symptoms

Hello
I'm trying to change the event log for run time events (we have a high log level and i want to decrease).

In bookshled PersAdmin.pdf for 7.8 page 82 i found:

To enable Personalization Event logging
1 Take the one of the following actions, as appropriate.
You are using the Siebel Web Client. Navigate to the Administration - Server
Configuration screen > Enterprises > Component Definitions view.
2 Select the appropriate object manager, and click the Components Parameters tab.
3 Select the Application Personal Log parameter, and edit the following fields.
Field Value: Directory path for the log file
Current Value: Value on Restart Directory path for the log file

I can't find the parameter in the indicate view.

However, i could find the parameter in
Server Configuration screen > Server > Components
when i try to clear the field "Value on restart" i get the following message:
SBL-ADM-02065 Param value not especified.

My questions:
1) Is the booksheld incorrect? (i found the parameter in other view)
2) How can i deactivate the log for run time event? What value i must enter for the parameter?

For the benefit of other users:

Problem Description:

Customer was trying to change the event log for run time events. The related information was found in bookshelf PersAdmin.pdf for 7.8 page 82::

To enable Personalization Event logging:

But the customer was not able to find the parameter in the specified view. However, he was able to find that parameter in
Server Configuration screen > Server > Components

Resolution:

Customer description was reproduced in standard srf. We have reported the engineering team with the reported behavior through the documentation defect 12-1L3ZFWJ. Change Requests will be reviewed, prioritized and implemented in a future release.
