Symptoms

Hi

I just wanted to know how to start Call Center object manager from Server command line. I Am aware of interactive component can't be started from the Server command line. Just curious to know any backdoor method which would help us.

Here is error message i got while trying:

srvrmgr:SS_MKSBLPRD3> start task for component SCCObjMgr_Enu

start task for component SCCObjMgr_Enu

SBL-ADM-01062: Cannot start a task for interactive mode component.

Solution

You are correct and there is no way to do this through any backdoor method. It might be possible to do something similar by integrating a script, EAI, and or workflow however you still would not be able to do this through srvrmgr. Even if something could be rigged in this manner, it would not be supported.

>>> Could you please let me know how can we do it using integrating a script, EAI, and or workflow

It depends on what you want to do. If you just wanted to "start Call Center object manager from Server command line", you can't.

It is possible to start a task outside of the srvrmgr command line. For example, one could probably create a shell script that starts the browser and logs into the OM, but after that it would depend on what someone wanted to accomplish once they were logged in. There are numerous other ways to do that as well (loadrunner being an obvious one). The integration of these methods though would be outside the realm of Technical Support.

My reference to something through a script, EAI, and/or workflow is open to the imagination and depends on what you want to do AFTER that session is created. Again though, the best approach would be dependent on what you wanted done after logging in.
